Last week I was invited to the Cricut blogger event held in the Skyloft Millbank Tower in London where I witnessed the multiple things this machine can do. Cricut offers a number of features and effects including cutting, writing or scoring resulting in a more precise and faster way of preparing for craft projects. I spent a few hours using the machine and I was very impressed of the quality and versatility of things you can do.
The new machine offers flexibility for materials including card, fabric, iron on, vinyl, denim, felt, poster board and even faux leather! This means that you can now use the machine where you couldn’t previously, allowing you to easily create wall vinyl, upcycle old furniture or add a personal touch to an accessory, bring an old t-shirt back to life or brighten up a tired handbag.
This video shows a bit more about Cricut. Having been previously available in the US it will be available from June 2014 in the UK from selected Hobbycraft stores, Amazon.co.uk and other well-known craft retailers and retailers at £249.99 .
They are going to send a machine for me to review. I personally can’t wait to give the new Cricut Explore a go and start customising all my clothes! I think this is an exciting new tool to emphasise our creativity and facilitate the making of some wonderful designs.
